Congratulations to CDGP PhD student Alice Denyer!

25th May 2018

Alice Denyer, our CDGP PhD student, based at the Royal Veterinary College, has won an International Canine Health Award - the 2018 Postgraduate Student Inspiration Award. Alice qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 2015 and spent two years working in small animal veterinary practice. In September 2017, Alice began studying for her PhD at the Royal Veterinary College under the supervision of Professors Brian Catchpole and Lucy Davison, founding members of the CDGP. Alice was awarded the prize following a competitive application process and an interview with an expert panel. The £10,000 funding from this Award will allow Alice to carry out further whole genome sequencing, as well as supporting her training and career development. The award was presented at a ceremony at the Kennel Club on Tuesday 23rd May, attended by a number of CDGP members, alongside Alice's supervisors and family. Alice is pictured  after the ceremony (second from the left) along with prizewinners in the other categories. Congratulations Alice!
